At our recent IMPAX Client Executive Forum we had a terrific presentation by Chris Powell, who is the President of Precyse (who provides expert services and comprehensive technologies to hospitals and health systems). He has risen through sales and sales leadership roles to get to his present position, and was well qualified to share ideas on how to strengthen sales culture to drive business results.
One of the ideas he shared is to develop a "sales creed" for your sales team. This could also be a theme, motto or vision, but whatever you want to call it, it's a great idea. He shared a creed from one of his previous sales teams, which was, "We are the #1 sales force in healthcare!" Were they? Who knows? The important thing is that they had a rallying cry and were moving forward together.
I wonder how many sales teams have a creed like this one.
