I recently saw Brian Tracy speak on his book, The Psychology of Success. The last time I saw him speak was probably about 20+ years ago, and he is as impressive as ever. His message included common sense ideas (e.g. the importance of setting goals and time management) delivered in a thoughtful and inspiring way. He is as relevant and thought provoking as ever, and backs up all of his key ideas with facts and statistics that make him very believable. He made a huge impression on me 20 years ago, and I found myself just as impressed this time around.

At one point he started talking about the political landscape and stopped himself and reminded all of us about the danger of talking politics in a forum like that. He shared his definition of politics - "poly means many and tics are voracious bloodsuckers"!

I had a chance to spend just a couple of minutes with him, and to thank him for the endorsement he gave us for Beyond Selling Value. It really meant a lot to us and I enjoyed the chance to tell him. He couldn't have been more professional and gracious.

By the way, he still uses overhead transparencies to make his points! Kind of makes our appreciation of flipcharts seem downright leading edge!
